Workshop

Practical meetings between text and stage

The workshops are central in Ferske Scener’s methodology. We use them to clarify and simplify ideas, clarify ownership and responsibilities, and build an effective working environment.

We split our work with performances into sections. Sometimes work starts with a gathering or a workshop, where all the creative parties – including, for instance, the composer, the set designer or the choreographer –  set the direction of the work.

When the text is at a basic draft level, we have workshops with actors and others involved to guide the playwright in developing and finalising the script.

Workshops are central in Ferske Scener’s methodology. We use them to clarify and simplify ideas, clarify ownership and responsibilities, and build an effective working environment. We test the central stage ideas in the most concrete and practical way. Usually, the leader of the workshop is the initiator (writer/director) or a dramaturge.

In recent years we have had several collaborations with Hålogaland Theatre, Dramatikkens Hus and Rulleramp, all of which allowed us to contribute our expertise to the management of development processes.

Confidence – clarity – ownership of one’s own work.
