Talking in the rain
An entertaining show about the weather
A talk show where the feel-good format is disrupted by wet feet, black coal and strong winds.
We relate to the weather in a personal and bodily way, while our relationship to climate is often intellectual and abstract.
Talking about the weather is a grateful topic for small talk. Talking about climate and the climate crisis is a step into a war zone with predetermined political positions. With this performance we try to avoid the verbal trenches and create something that can be felt and shared.
The performance takes place at the audience's home. The audience receives a package delivered to their door, receives text messages and finally participates in a joint Zoom meeting, where the package is opened and the contents are put into use.
A collaboration with Reality Research Center ( RRC) and Vestlandsforskni ng (VF ).
Premiere in Helsinki November 2020, also shown in Tromsø March 2021 .

It is close and engaging, it is alive and exciting, and the interaction between actors and audience also creates a community that defies and erases the physical distance we actually have between us.
(...) This is what melting ice feels like. This is how hot it gets in the palm of your hand when it's 54 degrees Celsius, and here's the smell of a forest fire. Fresh Scenes offers a very physical experience of climate change. Even though the performance is completely digital.
