BLOOD CLUB: BLOOD DAY
about performance
Blodklubb is the club for everyone who has blood! It is a series of performances where each performance has its own dramaturgy and agenda.
Blood Day is the Blood Club's big party day, and is a celebration of the fight for self-respect and survival. It starts with the audience being measured for their heads before being divided into two teams; short-skulls and long-skulls. The party performance continues with speeches, videos, songs and stories.
The stories are, among other things, about the founders' personal relationship to fighting. There are tales of surprising Kven roots, about having a grandfather who was convicted in the Landsvik conflict, about having parents who have diametrically opposed fighting strategies. There is blood club dancing, video and singing. Finally, there is a series of rather bloody competitions between short-skulls and long-skulls.
