The project is supported by Ferske Scener/Dramatikkens hus and the Norwegian Arts Council.
Four artists with varying connections to Norwegian, Finnish and Sami people are treading into the minefield of CULTURE AND GENETICS.
About Blood Club
The meeting with the audience during the Scenetekstivalen was the first time Blodklubb had an open meeting. There were newly written texts, old music, exercises with the audience, serving blood food, competitions and not least: The four founders' genetic tests were opened for the first time. Did the public identity match the answers to the genetic tests? And what does a genetic test actually show?
The founders of Blodklubben are author and prominent Markasami Sigbjørn Skåden, Finnish/Norwegian performance artist Kristina Junttila, actor and Norwegianized Sea Sami Bernt Bjørn, and playwright and rivgu Kristin Bjørn.
The club members (audience) decided at the first meeting what genetic makeup the club leader should have, and a large majority decided that the one with the genes most widely spread around the world should be the leader. Bernt Bjørn was chosen on this basis.
The competition to see who had the smallest hands was won by Jorid Hjulstad. The prize was a genetic test.
