A fairly ordinary man, family man and small boss who is quietly waiting for the bread to be baked so that he and his family can go on vacation to Senja. This year, like last year, to the insanely beautiful Senja.
The performance is a monologue, an inner dialogue with absurd associations, shaped in a stage language, as much influenced by dance and stand-up as by theater.
"For a year, there has been a debate in the cultural and business community of Northern Norway about the need to find "new Northern Norwegian voices" and renew the Northern Norwegian sense of community. According to the author, one motive in working on the text is to make: "... a poor contribution towards conquering Northern Norway back from the almighty, headless, force-patriotic myth-spinners. To make Northern Norway habitable and recognizable, for others than those who voluntarily take on the role of caricature..." The play "I'm Not Quite Ready" is both charming, sad and humorous. A stellar combination. "This is an excellent debut from playwright Bjørn Are Dypås."
