Welcome to the game about the wild Arctic!
As the Arctic ice disappears, we prepare to take over the “new land.” Apparently, the battle is between those who want to protect and those who want to create economic growth. But are there other battles going on? What is the role of scientists in the game of the Arctic?
The production of knowledge is enormous. But more knowledge does not necessarily give better insight. Who has the power to reach out to the media and explain the connections? And what is our relationship, as the regular newspaper reader, to new knowledge? What images of the future Northeast Passage do we choose? Or do we not choose at all?
Researchers and actors meet on stage in a form characterized by the TV medium's news entertainment. With the theater's own Peer Gynt as our guide, we ask questions in the East and West and open the doors to the Northeastern Passion.
The North East Passion was part of Researchers Night 2013. On September 27, in about 300 cities across Europe, researchers opened the doors of their laboratories or took to the stages and streets to meet the general public. More screenings are being planned.
