Bernt Bjørn has a background from the small village of Bukta in Omasvuodna in North Troms. Marita Isobel Solberg comes from the other side of the fjord, from Olmmáivággi.  

The external history of the villages in northern Troms is a story of Norwegianization and migration. SIIDA:BUKTA is not about what has been lost, but is a musical celebration of all that continues. It is about being at home in a landscape and a mixed culture that equips us for the future.

SIIDA:BUCK is a visual concert performance where the voices of Bernt Bjørn and Marita Isobel Solberg are accompanied by 84 bass speakers in a soundscape that is both techno, ambient, pop and joik. The audience sits in a room covered in carded wool, and is invited into a visual landscape that stretches, stretches and transforms.

  • The performance premiered on July 12, 2025 at Riddu Riđđu Festiválá. As of today, there are no announced screenings of SIIDA:BUKTA, but we want and plan to show the project several times in different formats.
