I guess I'm not quite ready.
“I’m not quite ready” is a monologue that takes place on the border between theatre and dance. We meet a fairly ordinary man, a family man and small-time boss, who is standing in front of the oven waiting for the bread to be finished baking. In a few minutes, the family will go on holiday to Senja – like last year, and the year before there. While the bread rises and time stands still, he slips into an inner conversation full of absurd thoughts and an increasingly strong feeling that he may not be quite ready.
The play, written by Bjørn Are Dypås from Senja, balances between humor and seriousness, and invites the audience into a language that alternates between the down-to-earth and the poetic.
It's a play about the everyday person who so desperately wants to be a member of society. It's about finding out who you really are, in the middle of packing for a vacation.
